The BEST and EASIEST take out-fake out recipe. Healthier beef and broccoli noodles made in 15 min from start to finish. And yes, it’s quicker, cheaper and healthier than take-out!
We don’t actually get the chance to do much take out where we live. So I have to get creative when cravings are on a roll. This is another case where we had takeout, loved it, and I said “Hey, I can make that cheaper and healthier at home!”. Since good take out is anywhere’s from an hour to and hour and a half from here. I like to play around with recipe to see if i can get as much flavor as possible with still remaining way better for you than the restaurant version.
One thing about this recipe is you can double it and freeze the leftovers (and trust me you will want to because it is super addicting and you will want to eat it over and over again. I portioned out some in small dishes for my lunches planning to freeze and they barely made it to the freezer before it was eaten.
This dish is super easy and requires very little skill. I prepped it earlier in the week (Marinated the beef and cut up all the veggies…etc) which made it a quick easy weeknight dinner.
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, garlic, lime juice, Sriracha, honey, and 2 tablespoons sesame oil. Marinate Steak strips in this sauce for at least 15-30 minutes or overnight. set aside.
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain. Rinse, and set aside.
Take steak strips out of the marinade. Set left over marinade aside and stir in the cornstarch to the marinade.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat remaining tablespoon sesame oil. Add steak and cook 3 to 5 minutes.
Add broccoli, peppers and mushrooms and 2 tablespoons water and stir, cooking until tender, about 6 minutes.
Reduce heat to low and add cooked noodles and reserved sauce to skillet. Toss until fully coated and warmed through.
